A loyalty pilot program launched in select Macy's stores March 2014. The goal was to create a program that stood out from other in-store creative while staying complimentary to the Macy's brand. To achieve this – black and white became the primary colors for the program, with photography drawing in targeted customers. Select pieces utilize black on black for a heightened, luxurious appeal.

Gift card designed and selected for Macy’s Spring 2014 collection. The floral illustrations play whimsically with the Macy’s star. The holographic treatment shifts the card’s color from a range of reds to blues. Results for this gift card exceeded expectations being the top selling floral design in recent years with sales reaching 2.5 million nationwide.

A redesign of Macy’s icon library launched in February 2014. The previous set had multiple styles implemented throughout it, creating inconsistencies in Macy’s visual branding. This refresh utilizes a thicker stroke and negative space, grasping the customer’s attention through its bold characteristics. The set is used on all credit and loyalty print and in-store collateral (direct mailers, card carriers, brochures, CVT screens, etc.) as well as on the macys.com credit section.

As an avid home-brewer, “Prescribe Responsibly,” is my exploration of the health benefits behind drinking beer moderately through the four key ingredients in the beer-making process. The four-pack, inspired by antiquated doctor kits, introduces each ingredient through their individual quadrants. The labels provide a mini-infographic visually educating the consumer of the benefits of that particular ingredient. The prescription label to the side of the main labels, details specific information of the ale and warn of the side-effects with over consumption.
The ale featured was brewed by myself and TJ Gonzalez.
A redesign of Miraku: Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi Bar, a Gainesville hibachi restaurant. The rebranding focuses on breaking down the complexity of translation through relevant hibachi terms in the english and japanese alphabets. The end result is a playful exploration of language and illustration bridging the customer’s cultural understanding with the hibachi experience.
-ation
1. An action or process.
2. The result of an action or process.
3. A state or quality.
The suffix -ation is a book series exploring innovation in technique and perspective from a subculture to global scale. The series begins with Chantry’s contrarion lifestyle and deviation from the digital medium, defining an era of music and influencing the style of future generations despite his limiting cultural niche. Followed by an antagonistic stance of modern society and it’s flaws – Barnbrook attacks the expansion of “globanalization,” referencing the dominant homogenizing force of Western corporations. The series reaches its conclusion with Mau’s philosophy and hope for design’s future and evolution in a globalized world, where every contribution is an act of humanity and design.
Sculpture composed through layers of gears, creating a monumental clock. On the arms, state a quote from Herbert Hoover, “About the time we make ends meet, somebody moves the ends,” said during the Great Depression. The hands point towards 5 o’ clock addressing the 9:5 jobs, currently suffering in the economy. Despite hard times workers continue on, with the aspiration that one day their slice of the elusive American Dream will become a reality.
